To Run or Not to Run
Updated: Oct 21, 2018
Research now shows that our bodies need muscle confusion.
And research shows that more muscle as you age is better.
So, does that mean that we give up running and start training to look like Arnold? Hardly.
It means that running plays an important role in your overall health. And it plays a roll in your exercise diversification.
While not scientifically founded, I believe that our bodies want cardio confusion as well.
I am one for a five pronged approach randomly split between muscle growth/maintenance (weights), heart and lung health (running), limberness and flexibility (yoga), mental fitness, (meditation), and sport for fun (your hobby.)
So make sure you don't just do yoga. Do yoga, and weights, and run as part of a balanced exercise program.
And make sure that you don't just run, but make weights an equal element to your fitness program.
Besides, the variety of activities help you sustain interest as well.
WARNING: Please consult your medical professional before starting any exercise program.
