Think of each specific type of exercise like a callous. At first you are uncomfortable and unsure. However, the more you do a certain type of training the more comfortable and numb you become to the things that you once found challenging. And though we love to boast our strengths---it is absolutely vital that we practice our weaknesses in order to reach our full potential as athletes. Participating in a variety of training methods promotes the balance needed to succeed as a well-rounded, athlete. In turn this will reduce injury, enhance performance, and give specific muscles the break they need without taking the day off. Three easily accessible varieties of training are Weight Lifting, Speed Training, and Endurance Training.
